USDA Texas Announces New Renewable Energy Projects

The United States Department of Agriculture is investing millions into renewable energy projects across Texas.

State Director, Lillian Salerno, says this comes from a record $207 million grant… and out of that, Texas received $1.6 million.

“These are renewable energy projects supported by the USDA that are specific for rural Texas,” Salerno said. “There’s pretty even division around the state. We did a project where we are helping the Guadalupe Brewing Company install a solar array at their craft brewery system in Central Texas.”

Projects were also announced in Wise County, Uvalde County, Reagan County, Nolan County, Lampasas County, Kerr County, Comal County, Cass County, and Camp County.

The initiative is also in direct connection to President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act aimed at combatting the climate crisis.
