Off-Duty Fort Worth Police Officer Arrested in Domestic Violence Incident

(WBAP/KLIF News ) – A Fort Worth police officer is facing charges stemming from an off-duty domestic violence incident this week.

Rhome Police arrested Detective Dusty Dwyer on Wednesday on complaints of interfering with an emergency call and assault causing bodily injury – family violence.

In a statement, the Fort Worth Police Department said Dwyer is on restrictive duty and “has been stripped of all police powers during the course of the ongoing criminal and administrative investigations.”

Dwyer has been with the department for nine years and was a part of the Criminal Investigations Division at the time of his arrest.

“The Fort Worth Police Department holds its officers to a high standard on and off duty; therefore, a thorough investigation to collect and review the facts and the circumstances of these allegations will be conducted,” said the department in a statement.
