DENTON, TX – (WBAP/KLIF) – Attorney General Ken Paxton has obtained an agreed injunction against Denton ISD to end its unlawful attempts to influence elections.
On February 22nd Paxton sued Denton ISD after a school principal used an official e-mail to encourage all staff members to vote against specific candidates who supported policies that she disagreed with.
These actions violated the Texas election code’s prohibition against the use of state or local funds of the district to electioneer any candidate, measure, or political party. Paxton has already secured an injunction against Castleberry ISD, and a restraining order against Frisco ISD.
