(WBAP/KLIF) – Attorney General Ken Paxton could potentially be taking a plea deal. Even though his trial date is three weeks away, the securities fraud case against Ken Paxton could wrap up as soon as Tuesday.

The two felony counts against the attorney general could be dropped entirely if Paxton agrees to the terms of the deal with the prosecutor. Under the agreement Paxton would pay at least $100,000 dollars in restitution, perform community service hours, and would have to take ongoing legal education classes

The case started in Collin County nine years ago, when Paxton was accused of soliciting investors in a tech company without telling them he was on the company payroll.

Paxton has not commented on the potential deal.
