Dallas attorney and State Senator Royce West, who is the attorney representing Rashee Rice, said during a news conference on Thursday that Rice was driving the Lamborghini that is believed to have caused the crash along Central Expressway.
“We will continue to work with the Dallas Police Department answering questions that they have, secondly we will work with the victims to make certain that we deal with their issues be it bodily injury or property damage. We will work with them on that,” West said.
West said he is hopeful that perhaps next week Rice will be able to make a public statement. Rice did issue a written statement on his Instagram account this week.

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News ) – Kansas City wide receiver Rashee Rice issued a statement taking full responsibility for his part in a multi-vehicle crash that shut down Central Expressway on Saturday.
He posted a message on his Instagram story on Wednesday.
“Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident,” read the statement. “I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted.”
Dallas Police said they met with Rice on Wednesday and he allegedly admitted to investigators that he was driving the Lamborghini involved in the crash.
According to a police report obtained by our media partner WFAA TV, there were six people between the Lamborghini and the Corvette that were speeding along 75 northbound just before 6:30 Saturday night.
Both cars lost control and caused a chain-reaction crash involving six cars, according to the report.
The occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette fled the scene. The report also states that marijuana was found in both cars, along with credit cars, a $16,500 check, diamond chain and the Kansas City Chiefs playbook.
Two crash victims were taken to the hospital. Both vehicles involved in the crash are linked to Rice.
Kyle Coker, the attorney representing a luxury car rental company Classic Lifestyle, told our media partner WFAA TV Rice was renting the Lamborghini from classic lifestyle.
“There was a confirmation that Rice was at the scene. That he had been in an accident and that he would pay for the damage caused to the vehicle that we leased to him,” he said.
Coker said they’ve contacted Rice’s attorneys about reimbursement for the $250,000 car.
Rice is a North Texan who grew up in North Richland Hills and played college football at Southern Methodist University.
