(WBAP/KLIF) – On Tuesday, The Alliance Defending Freedom filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of Carroll ISD claiming that the revisions to Title IX attacks the rights and freedoms of girls in the State of Texas.
Title IX bans discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities receiving federal financial assistance. In April the US Department of Education announced changes to Title IX stating that it also protects against discrimination based on gender identify and sexual orientation.
The lawsuit stated that the changes to Title IX will prevent Carroll ISD from protecting private spaces like bathrooms, locker rooms and showers, and infringes on the constitutional rights of students and staff.
