Grapevine Man Sentenced to 35 Years in Prison for Setting Neighbor’s Porch on Fire

GRAPEVINE (WBAP/KLIF News ) – A Grapevine man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for setting his neighbor’s porch on fire after an argument two years ago.

The Tarrant County Criminal District Attorneys Office said a jury found 44-year-old David Alfarez guilty of arson to damage a habitat before sentencing.

Prosecutors said on December 17, 2022, Alferez was playing loud music in his trailer when his neighbor came over to complain.

Alferez became angry about his neighbor’s request, poured flammable liquid on the man’s porch and set it ablaze, according to prosecutors.

The fire eventually burned out but the incident was captured on video.

Tarrant County Criminal DA Phil Sorrells reacted to the punishment.

“Thanks to the Grapevine Police Department, the Grapevine Fire Department, and the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office for their work on this case and for their commitment to keeping our community safe,” said the statement.
