(WBAP/KLIF) – Fitness guru Richard Simmons passed away, after celebrating his 76th birthday on Friday. Los Angeles police responded to his home after his housekeeper found Simmons dead called 911. Officials believe that Simmons died from natural causes, and do not suspect any foul play.
Simmons rose to fame in the 1970s and ’80s after opening several gyms across the country and releasing his iconic high energy fitness tapes. He stepped away from the public eye about ten years ago, but earlier this week he stated that he was “grateful to be alive for another day” following his skin cancer diagnosis.
