WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is acknowledging that his tariffs could result in fewer and costlier products in the United States. He says that perhaps American kids “will have two dolls instead of 30 dolls.” But he’s also insisting that China will suffer more from his trade war. During a Cabinet meeting Wednesday at the White House, Trump focused on China’s trade surplus with the U.S. The comments came as the president was asked whether he had spoken with Chinese leader Xi Jinping about trying to find an off-ramp to the trade war between the two countries that has been sparked by several rounds of Trump’s tariffs. President Trump didn’t answer the question.
