UPDATE: On his Truth Social media site, President Trump today nominated Waltz for U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations; Secretary of State Marco Rubio will assume National Security Adviser duties for now.
WASHINGTON – (WBAP/KLIF) – National security adviser Mike Waltz and his deputy, Alex Wong, will be leaving their posts in the Trump White House, according to multiple sources familiar with their departure.
National security adviser Mike Waltz and his deputy, Alex Wong are expected to depart the White House today. A focus on Waltz began when he pulled people into a group chat on Signal, mistakenly including Editor of The Atlantic Jeff Goldberg into discussion of imminent attack plans targeting the Houthis in Yemen. Goldberg then published his account without details of the operation, but later added those after a group of White House security officials denied classified information had been shared. Goldberg then published strike timing and weapon package information.
