(WBAP/KLIF) — A teenager has been identified as the victim in a deadly boating accident on Grapevine Lake, Sunday.
18-year-old Ava Renee Moore was kayaking on Grapevine Lake around 5:30 pm, when she was reportedly struck and killed by a personal watercraft with two women on board.
Witnesses brought the victim ashore and performed life-saving measures before she was taken to Baylor, Scott & White Hospital in Grapevine where she was later pronounced dead.
Grapevine Police say the passenger of the jet ski remained at the scene and spoke with first responders. however, the driver reportedly left the lake with another man and ended up striking another vehicle while leaving the park.
Grapevine Police and Texas Game Wardens are investigating and have released a picture of the suspect.
