AHMEDABAD, India (AP) — Indian authorities have started handing over remains of the victims of one of India’s worst aviation disasters after identifying some through DNA tests. The Air India flight crashed shortly after takeoff Thursday and killed at least 270 people, including 29 on the ground, in the northwestern city of Ahmedabad. One passenger survived. Hundreds of relatives of the crash victims have provided DNA samples at the hospital. Most of the bodies were charred or mutilated, making them unrecognizable. Among the passengers, 169 were Indians, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese and one Canadian.
