No State Lawmaker Quorum Again in Austin; Democrat’s Protest in Re-Districting Fight Continues

AUSTIN – (WBAP/KLIF) – No quorum reached again for Texas lawmakers, again causing a vote on a Republican-led re-districting plan that would give Republicans in the Lone Star State an additional five seats in the 2026 election.

Democratic lawmakers are protesting what they call “gerrymandering” by staying out of state, causing lawmakers to wait until they return for a vote on the matter.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton continues to threaten legal action against lawmakers, and Governor Greg Abbott threatens calling back-to-back sessions until lawmakers do return, and that vote is accomplished.
