AUSTIN – (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas House Representative Nicole Collier is reported detained on the Texas House floor after she was reported to be refusing Republican surveillance protocol.
The seven-term Democratic lawmaker and former chair of the Texas Legislative Black Caucus is reported as having refused to sign a so-called permission slip assigning her a 24/7 taxpayer-funded law enforcement escort required to follow her movements through the entire state.
The “permission slip” idea is the latest from Republicans after Democrats managed a successful quorum break that stalled Governor Abbott’s redistricting plan.
