The lawmaker from Fort Worth refused to sign paperwork that would allow her to leave only with the police escort, which is a stipulation that is imposed on Democrats who left Texas to break quorum. Despite their protests, Republicans are ready to put redistricting to a vote. The redrawn congressional map favoring Republicans is expected to pass off the House floor today.
