Dallas Woman Faces First-Degree Murder Charges in Death of Baby

FRISCO – (WBAP/KLIF) – A 27-year old Dallas woman faces murder charges in the death of her 15-month old baby police assert was purposefully left alone inside a hot car for more than two hours, apparently killing the child.

27-year old Vanessa Esquivel was arrested by Frisco police after detectives surmised she left the baby in the vehicle as outside temperatures rose into the mid-90’sF. Officials say the baby was discovered unresponsive and declared dead.

Esquivel is now held on a quarter million dollars bond in the Collin County jail; charged with first-degree felony murder, with a possible sentence of five years to life in prison.

No motive is known or released to the public.
