(WBAP/KLIF) – AUSTIN, TX – After several failed attempts to pass a bill to ban or regulate THC in Texas, Governor Abbott is expected to issue an executive order to regulate it. The executive order could set a minimum age requirement of 21 years old to purchase T-H-C products, and require dispensaries to be located a certain distance away from schools. Other measures could include, label requirements, testing, and I-D checks for anyone entering a dispensary.
Governor Abbott has previously stated that T-H-C could be regulated the same way as alcohol. Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick pushed for a ban on T-H-C products in Texas, but lawmakers could not reach a deal during the regular or special sessions.
