Trump Administration Announces Lower Drug Prices with Pfizer

(WBAP/KLIF) — FOX News — President Trump has announced a new agreement with drugmaker Pfizer to voluntarily sell the company’s medications through Medicaid at lower prices. The president touting the announcement. The Trump administration has been pushing for drugmakers to align domestic prices with the lowest levels paid by countries with similar incomes under the “most-favored-nation” policy. Earlier this summer, the president sent letters to multiple drugmakers, including Pfizer, outlining how they should cut prices to match those paid overseas.

H-H-S Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in the Oval Office thanking the president, saying this announcement was a long time coming. The president also announcing the launch of a direct-to-consumer website that will allow Americans to buy drugs at the discounted rates. Pfizer will pledge 70 billion dollars to go towards research and development, along with domestic manufacturing.
