(WBAP/KLIF) – DALLAS, TX – The Dallas Police Department hired 330 officers in the fiscal year that ended this month, which is 30 more than its initial goal. The department has nearly 33-hundred officers on the force, which represents 150 more than last year, but still 450 short of what is needed. Despite the increase in officers on the street, the Dallas Police Department is still lagging when it comes to response time in nearly every part of the city. On average, the most urgent calls still take longer than the department’s 8 minute goal.
