Governor Abbott Declares Two Islamic Groups Terrorist Organizations

(WBAP/KLIF) – AUSTIN, TX – Two Muslim civil rights groups are pushing back after Governor Abbott labeled them foreign terrorist organizations. The governor accused the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American Islamic Relations of supporting global terrorism, and twisting state law through intimidation and violence, which is a designation that bars both groups from owning land in Texas. Officials with the Council on American Islamic Relations called the governors claims defamatory and lawless, and issued a letter pointing to decades of defending civil rights and condemning unjust violence, including terrorism.
