Two people are dead after a plane crashed near Echo Lake in the Henderson County town of Murchison. Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said the call for the crash came in just after 5:00 PM on Wednesday. A spokesperson for the Texas DPS confirmed that two people on board died in the crash.
Flight logs show that the plane departed from nearby Nacogdoches just after 4:30 PM. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time. Texas DPS and the FAA are investigating.
