Consumers are being urged to check their pantries after PT Organics Limited voluntarily recalled select Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry fruit puree pouches due to the potential presence of soft plastic inside the packaging.
The recall, announced and published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), affects certain 4-ounce (113-gram) Banana & Strawberry puree pouches sold nationwide at Kroger, Meijer, and Target stores between March 6 and July 13, 2026.
According to the company, an internal packaging defect may result in a strand of soft, food-grade plastic being present inside some pouches. PT Organics said it has not received any reports of injuries related to the recalled products.
The company initiated the voluntary recall after its packaging supplier recalled a production run of defective pouches. Subsequent inspections by PT Organics confirmed that a small number of finished products contained strands of soft, food-grade plastic attached to the inside of the pouch.
The recall applies only to Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry 4-ounce fruit puree pouches with the following identifying information:
- Product: Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry Fruit Puree Pouch, 4 oz. (113 g)
- Barcode: 8 15367 01078 0
- Lane number: 4 (printed on the rear right-hand side seam)
- Best-by dates:
- January 19, 2027
- January 20, 2027
- March 17, 2027
- March 18, 2027
- May 14, 2027
- May 15, 2027
Only products matching all of the above identifiers are affected.
PT Organics advises consumers and caregivers to compare products in their possession with the recalled lot information.
Anyone with an affected pouch should not consume it or feed it to another person. Instead, consumers should either:
- Dispose of the product safely, or
- Return it to the retailer where it was purchased for a refund.

The FDA said the recall is being conducted as a precaution to protect consumers from the potential packaging defect.
