A 19-year-old Dallas murder suspect remains on the run after Forney police accused him in a second fatal shooting, weeks after authorities say he violated bond conditions and cut off his court-ordered ankle monitor.
The Forney Police Department arrested 18-year-old Jakub Lavoy East-Walker and charged him with first-degree murder in the July 26 shooting death of 22-year-old Erma Shalansia Qualls. Police continue searching for Mysiah Clark, who is wanted on a murder charge in the same case.
Investigators believe the shooting targeted people inside the home but said Qualls was not the intended victim.
Woman killed inside Forney home
Officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Eagle Ridge on July 26 and found Qualls dead inside.
Police said East-Walker and Clark knew Qualls and other people who were inside the residence. Authorities have not disclosed what prompted the shooting.
Officers initially searched the neighborhood before determining the suspects had left the area quickly. Police said they may have fled in a vehicle.
Clark already faced murder charge
Records show Clark already faced a murder charge in the April 19, 2025, fatal shooting of 15-year-old Charles Benjamin Robinson at a gas station on East Overton Road in Dallas.
Authorities arrested Clark in July 2025. He posted a $100,000 bond and left jail on October 29 with a court-ordered ankle monitor.
The monitor recorded Clark at unauthorized locations in Mesquite in late June, and a judge later declared his bond insufficient, according to court records. Authorities say Clark cut off the monitor on July 2 before officers could take him back into custody.
“He was made aware of his violations and instead of taking care of his business, he cut the monitor off and left it at the location where he was staying,” Officer B.K. Nelson of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force said.
Authorities warn Clark’s associates
Nelson said investigators believe friends are helping Clark avoid arrest even though he has no car, job or money.
“If you help Mr. Clark evade authorities, you give him shelter, you give him money, you give him food, give him a place to stay, and we find out about it, you’re going to be going to jail yourself,” Nelson said.
Forney Police Chief Carrie White called the suspects “two cowards” who fled after the killing and “need to be caught,” NBC 5 DFW reported.

East-Walker remains in custody on a first-degree murder charge. Clark and East-Walker are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
