
Dallas police are seeking the public’s assistance in three homicide investigations, including the fatal shooting of a 65-year-old man whose death was announced Friday.
The Dallas Police Department identified the latest victim on September 4 as Marvin Harper.
Man Shot Along Great Trinity Forest Way
Officers responded to a reported shooting in the 8000 block of Great Trinity Forest Way at approximately 6 a.m. on August 21.
The department’s preliminary investigation determined that an individual shot Harper and fled before officers arrived. Harper was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead sometime later.
Police have not publicly disclosed a possible motive, released a description of the suspected shooter, or explained what may have occurred before the gunfire. The department’s September 4 release did not announce an arrest.

Two Suspects Sought In Jim Miller Road Killing
Police are also searching for two unidentified suspects in connection with the August 27 killing of 24-year-old Kenneth Turner.
Officers responding to a shooting call in the 100 block of North Jim Miller Road at approximately 3:20 a.m. found Turner suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the department’s account of the investigation.
Dallas Fire-Rescue transported Turner to a hospital in critical condition, but he later died.
Police said two unidentified suspects were involved, but the department has not released descriptions of them or announced any arrests. The investigation is documented under case number 125909-2026.

Police Renew Appeal In 2025 Killing
In a third investigation, Dallas police recently renewed their request for information about the July 4, 2025, killing of 18-year-old Omar Johnson.
Officers responded to a shooting call in the 9400 block of Bruton Road at approximately 12:15 a.m. and found Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
Police said Johnson was shot by an unknown suspect. The department has not publicly identified the shooter or disclosed a possible motive.
That investigation is documented under case number 094784-2025.
