Colleyville police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide after a man and a woman were found dead inside a home over the weekend, according to the Colleyville Police Department.
Officers were dispatched at 4:15 p.m. Saturday to a residence in the 5300 block of Bluebonnet Drive for a death investigation. Both individuals were unresponsive when officers arrived, and Colleyville Fire Department paramedics pronounced them dead at the scene.
The woman died from gunshot wounds, while the man appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to findings from the police investigation conducted alongside the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. A handgun was recovered near the man’s body.
Police have not released the identities of the two people, saying the information is being withheld pending formal identification and notification of next of kin by the medical examiner’s office.
Authorities said the investigation remains active but described the incident as isolated, adding that it poses no ongoing threat to the community.
The Colleyville Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Grapevine Police Department and the North Richland Hills Crime Scene Investigations unit.
