A Fort Worth barbershop owner has been arrested on allegations of child sexual assault and indecency with a child following an investigation by the Fort Worth Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit.
Hugo Jimenez Rodriguez, owner of Salon Hugo, was arrested in connection with an alleged incident reported at the barbershop at 4075 E. Lancaster Ave.
Police said the incident occurred on September 4. Rodriguez faces charges of sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child by contact.
Authorities have not released details about the allegations or identified the child involved. The child’s family later reported the alleged incident to police. Rodriguez’s bond was set at $200,000.
Investigators believe there may be additional victims, particularly among Spanish-speaking adolescents, according to the Fort Worth Police Department.
Police are asking anyone who believes they may have been victimized or has information related to the investigation to contact Detective Lopez at 682-382-1509. Resources and support are available to people who choose to come forward.
Leo Martinez, who told Fox 4 KDFW that he and his family have had their hair cut by Rodriguez for about 20 years, said he frequently saw children at the barbershop. Martinez said he was surprised by the arrest but supported the investigation if the allegations are substantiated.
The case remains under investigation by the Crimes Against Children Unit.
