Frisco police arrested an Aubrey man on charges of invasive visual recording and possession of child pornography after investigating allegations involving an adult woman at a local fitness center, the department announced on Thursday.
Eli Phillip Rodriguez, 38, faces both felony charges, police said in an October 8 news release. Investigators also found evidence of alleged child pornography possession during the recording investigation, according to the department.
Other reporting has identified the fitness center as a Frisco Planet Fitness and linked the case to a civil lawsuit. Attorneys for a woman who had been a member for more than seven years said she was recorded while undressed in a private tanning room. The lawsuit claims investigators later found that the man had secretly recorded multiple other women at the gym in varying states of undress.
Officers arrested Rodriguez on Thursday, October 8, and that police found multiple videos of a woman on his phone, some dating to 2024, along with child pornography, per Fox 4.
Those location, date, and lawsuit details are not in the Frisco Police Department release, which describes only an adult woman at a local fitness center and does not say when the arrest occurred.
Police took Rodriguez to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office after his arrest. The release does not specify when officers arrested him or identify the fitness center.
The invasive visual recording charge carries a potential sentence of 180 days to two years and a fine of up to $10,000. The child pornography possession charge carries a potential sentence of two to 10 years and a fine of up to $10,000, police said.
