A century-old Highland Park estate will open to the public on October 24 before a restoration project begins, offering visitors a look inside a home designed by Dallas architect Anton Korn.
House of Vasari will host the tour and preservation showcase from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4215 Lakeside Drive. The Saturday event will give visitors an opportunity to explore the property’s architectural details and learn about plans to preserve the estate.
WFAA interviewed Roman Piotrowski, founder of House of Vasari, and Charlie White, founder of The CHAR Network, about the project. Both described preserving the home as part of a broader effort to protect the craftsmanship and architectural history of Dallas-area residences.
The two emphasized the loss of historic homes to redevelopment and the importance of giving older properties a future. The planned work will focus on protecting and restoring the Lakeside Drive estate.
The public opening precedes the restoration, allowing visitors to see the house before that work gets underway. The construction start date, project budget, and completion timeline have not been announced, but House of Vasari invited interested parties to follow the restoration journey through its Instagram account.
