Another financial services company is moving its headquarters out of downtown Dallas as the city continues efforts to reduce crime, address homelessness, and reach its voter-approved police staffing minimum.
MUFG Capital Analytics announced Wednesday, November 4, that it is relocating to a 16,000-square-foot office at The Towers at Williams Square in Irving.
A Headquarters Move Within North Texas
The alternative-investment services firm previously operated in downtown Dallas. Its new headquarters is in Las Colinas, where the company scheduled a November 4 ribbon-cutting. MUFG Capital Analytics is a division of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.
“This new headquarters represents more than a change in address. It’s an investment in the culture we’ve worked hard to build and the future we’re creating together,” company President Steven Boydstun said in the firm’s release.
The announcement did not disclose the number of employees moving or the reason Irving was selected.
The relocation follows AT&T’s announced move from downtown Dallas to Plano. AT&T CEO John Stankey raised concerns about crime and city governance in prior correspondence with Dallas officials, as The Dallas Express previously reported.
Crime And Homeless Counts Fall, But Gaps Remain
September reports obtained by The Dallas Express showed 171 offenses in downtown Dallas, down 47% from 323 a year earlier. Downtown Fort Worth recorded 22 offenses that month, compared with 37 in September 2025, as previously reported. The downtown districts differ in size, so the raw counts are not equivalent to population-adjusted crime rates.
A separate street-level survey counted 22 people experiencing homelessness in downtown Dallas in September, down from 103 a year earlier. That count covers people observed in the central business district, not everyone experiencing homelessness citywide.
Dallas And Irving Residents Weigh In On Safety
Irving’s 2026 resident survey found that 94% of respondents felt safe or very safe walking in their neighborhoods during the day, compared with 79% during the evening. Perceptions were lower in city parks, where 86% felt safe during the day and 58% during the evening.
Dallas residents reported lower daytime neighborhood safety perceptions. The city’s 2026 Community Survey found that 81% felt safe or very safe in their neighborhoods during the day, 13 percentage points below Irving’s result. Only 25% of Dallas respondents felt safe in city parks after dark.
Homelessness was identified as a major problem by 57% of Dallas respondents, followed by dangerous drivers and streets at 45% and infrastructure conditions at 44%. The survey identified infrastructure maintenance, police services, and homeless programs as the city’s three highest service priorities.
The Dallas survey included 2,319 responding households, while Irving’s survey analyzed 4,958 valid responses. Both measured citywide perceptions rather than actual crime or homelessness rates. Differences in survey wording and methodology also limit direct comparisons.
Dallas Remains 553 Officers Below Charter Minimum
Dallas had 3,447 sworn police officers according to an October 13 city hiring report, 553 below the 4,000-officer minimum established by Proposition U, as The Dallas Express reported November 2. The city’s adopted budget projects 3,651 officers by September 2027 and 3,800 by September 2028, both below 4,000. The charter does not specify a date for initially reaching the threshold.
Downtown Dallas Inc. President and CEO Jennifer Scripps said in September that downtown had approximately 130 assigned and approved officers, up from numbers in the 90s several years earlier, according to previous The Dallas Express coverage. That downtown assignment figure is distinct from the police department’s citywide sworn staffing total.
