Dallas police have named the four people who died in the Deep Ellum shootings following Halloween celebrations and are asking the public to identify a man seen pulling out a pistol before one of the attacks.
In a November 4 update, the department identified Anthony Martin, 25, Unique Benjamin, 28, and Kaniesa Scott, 21, as the deceased victims of the shooting in the 200 block of South Crowdus Street. Police identified Isaiah Boling, 20, as the deceased victim of the shooting in the 2600 block of Elm Street.
The identifications and video appeal follow three shootings in the early morning hours of November 1 that left four people dead and 15 others injured, according to police. As The Dallas Express previously reported, the attacks unfolded across multiple crime scenes in the entertainment district.
Police seek help identifying Main Street suspect
The police appeal concerns the shooting in the 2600 block of Main Street, which investigators placed at about 1:05 a.m. Police said the video shows a suspect pulling out a pistol near a large group of people just before that shooting.
Security footage from around 1:04 a.m. shows a man with glasses wearing a camouflage hoodie. He pulls a gun from the side of his pants, holds it at his side, and then places it in his front waistband.
Dallas Police Lt. Matthew Finley told Fox 4 KDFW that the suspect fired indiscriminately in the parking lot, injuring seven people.
“We need people to come forward to help us identify the suspect and bring justice for the individuals,” Finley said.
