President Donald Trump announced Friday that Stephen Miller will replace Susie Wiles as White House chief of staff beginning Monday, November 9.
Wiles will move to Trump’s political operation, per the Friday announcement. Trump praised her work while announcing the transition.
Miller already serves as deputy chief of staff for policy and homeland security adviser, as his 2026 White House financial disclosure shows.
Trump originally selected Wiles as chief of staff and Miller as deputy chief of staff for policy while assembling his second administration, The Dallas Express previously reported.
Wiles posted on social media that Friday would be her last day to serve as Chief of Staff.
“Serving President Trump in the White House has been the honor of a lifetime. I’m so proud to have been a part of what we’ve accomplished together from securing our border and cutting taxes to strengthening our economy and putting America First,” Wiles said.
“More than anything, I’m grateful for the extraordinary people I’ve had the privilege of working alongside. While my role may be changing, my commitment to the President and the mission never will,” she added.

Earlier public support
The reported change follows Trump’s public rejection of replacement speculation three weeks earlier.
“Zero chance. Zero.” Trump said when a reporter asked about a potential replacement during an October 16 exchange before his Marine One departure, according to the Roll Call Factba.se transcript. “That’s a false report that was written by Politico. It’s fake news.”
Trump went on to praise Wiles’ performance and described her as smart and tough during that exchange. The October remarks document his position at that time, before Friday’s reported announcement.
