Dallas Arboretum One of Many Hosting Eclipse Watch Party

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — If you don’t have plans on where to watch Monday’s solar eclipse and don’t want to pull off to the side of the highway, the Dallas Arboretum is hosting a “Minutes of Midnight” viewing party today.

“It will feel a little bit like a party,” said Megan Lewis with the Arboretum. “We’ve got lawn games, such as Connect 4. Also, the best part is: if you want to bring your own picnic, you’re more than welcome to.”

The party takes place from 11:30 until 2:30 Monday afternoon. They’ll be passing out free solar eclipse glasses as long as supplies last. They suggest getting there early to make sure to get some.

The Dallas Perot Museum is also hosting a viewing party, as is Tarleton State University’s planetarium.

Triple A is cautioning drivers not to stop in the middle of the road during the eclipse’s peak hours, which in Texas will be in the early afternoon.
