An early-morning shooting in West Dallas left two men seriously wounded Sunday, while police investigated whether a third gunshot victim was connected to the same incident.
Officers responded around 5 a.m. September 27 to the 3700 block of Pueblo Street and found two men with gunshot wounds. Emergency crews took both to hospitals with serious injuries, FOX 4 reported, citing Dallas police investigators at the scene.
A third gunshot victim arrived separately at a hospital shortly afterward. Police had not established whether that person was involved in the Pueblo Street shooting, leaving the confirmed count at that location at two.
Investigators examine the scene
A disturbance preceded the gunfire, and investigators recovered shell casings outside a home and sought surveillance footage from neighboring properties. Assault detectives and crime scene personnel also responded.
Public information reviewed Sunday afternoon did not identify the victims, announce an arrest or establish how many people fired shots. No later update on the two men’s conditions or a case number surfaced in that review.
Police continued investigating and asked anyone with information to contact the department. DPD lists 214-671-3001 as its headquarters number.
Recent Dallas shootings
Two separate shootings September 18 and 19 left two people dead and two wounded elsewhere in Dallas, as previously reported by The Dallas Express on September 21.
Those incidents occurred on Trail Glen Drive and Crest Hill Road. Police identified the people who died as 22-year-old Zyaira Sterling and 35-year-old Everardo Suarez, respectively. Emergency crews took a second victim from each location to a hospital in stable condition, according to DPD’s accounts.
Police subsequently announced that the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested 19-year-old Cesar Flores on September 23 in the Crest Hill case. He faces an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge, DPD said.
No public information reviewed for this report established a connection between Pueblo Street and those earlier cases or another Dallas shooting this weekend.
