DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — The Dallas City Council will vote Wednesday on giving even more resources to victims of Hurricane Harvey.
The resolution being proposed would give City Manager TC Broadnax authority to use city funds, up to $5 million, to help South Texas and storm victims.
Specifically, the resolution states the money would go toward “emergency procurements necessary to respond to Hurricane Harvey and related weather events, including but not limited to associated flooding and displacement of individuals.”
It was able to be added to the council’s agenda last minute because of a clause in the Texas Open Meetings Act that addresses imminent threats to public health and safety.
