DALLAS(WBAP/KLIF) – Mental health professionals in Dallas are preparing for the needs of those displaced by Harvey.
Psychologist Dr. Reed Robinson says evacuees have a lot of changes ahead of them including how to cope with others and friends. Dr. Robinson believes one way to relieve their emotional stress is by connecting through social media.
“We can get on Facebook for not being a great thing about number of aspects of society, but it does a really good job keeping us connected with people we might not connect with on a regular basis.”
A professor of psychiatry at UT Southwestern, Robinson added its important that neighbors connect with neighbors and build a sense of family during difficult times.
