PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) — A Dallas Cowboys watch party in Plano Sunday night turned into a blood bath after a man opened fire on its guests.
Plano Police say officers received a weapons call around 8:00 Sunday night and arrived to more gunfire inside the home and nine gunshot victims — seven of them killed.
“From that point in time, the first arriving officer on scene made entry inside the house, confronted the suspect, ultimately shooting and killing him,” officer David Tilley told WFAA TV.
Eight people in total died when counting the gunman. The two surviving victims were taken to the hospital, though as of Monday morning, their condition was unknown.
Witnesses say they noticed a couple arguing in the yard before hearing 30-40 shots from inside the home.
The officer who shot the gunman was put on administrative leave, which is protocol in an officer involved shooting. The Texas Rangers are investigating the incident.
