(WBAP/KLIF) – Senator John Cornyn says the money approved by Congress to help in the hurricane relief effort in Southeast Texas is only the beginning.
Cornyn called the federal aid a down payment.
“I’m committed to working together with the entire Texas delegation,” Cornyn said in a conference call to reporters Wednesday.
Cornyn says they are working with Governor Greg Abbott to get the proper paperwork in the coming weeks for additional funding to eventually sent out. Cornyn said that could possibly take place as soon as October.
