Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The task force created by the Dallas City Council to advise what should be done with the city’s various confederate monuments and markers issued its report Friday. It thinks the Robert E. Lee statue that was removed from what was then Lee Park should be loaned out or donated to a museum or educational site. It recommends city parks with confederate names should be renamed. It suggests the same for streets that have confederate names. The task force does think the confederate imagery around Fair Park should stay, but signs and markers should be added to give them broader historical context.

The task force also wants the city to apologize for any policies and practices that furthered institutional racism and segregation.
