DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the body of 3-year-old Sherin Mathews of Richardson but did not reveal who has custody of it.
Sherin’s remains were found in a culvert less than a mile from her home a little over a week ago.
She was reported missing the morning of October 7th when her adoptive father initially told police she vanished after he put her outside at 3 a.m. as punishment for not drinking her milk.
Wesley Mathews eventually changed his story and told investigators he removed her body from the home after she choked on the milk.
Mathews is charged with injury to a child.
The cause of death for Sherin is pending.
