DALLAS(WBAP/KLIF)- As temperatures rebound from their sub-freezing bottom, the National Weather Service says North Texas should see a trend of above average temperatures but little moisture for the rest of winter into spring. That means in the state of Texas, the prolonged drought will continue.
As of December 26, close to 64 percent of the state was experiencing drought conditions according to www.drought.gov, almost double what was recorded three months ago.
Juan Hernandez with the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth says the drier weather patterns can be blamed on La Nina, the weather phenomenon that cools the Pacific Ocean off the coast of South America.
