GARLAND (WBAP/KLIF) — When it gets this cold outside, one group hit hardest is the homeless.
That’s why several churches in Garland came together to open “Garland Overnight Warming Stations,” or GLOWS.
Volunteer John Duncan says although more than 60 people took advantage of the place to stay, dozens more refused.
According to the group’s Facebook page, GLOWS is over capacity at 76 people. Officials say they’re close to that number right now.
They’re always looking for volunteers, and are always in need of donated items, such as personal hygiene products. If you think you can help them out, click here.
