Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Police were involved in a shooting this morning that resulted in the death of an alleged car thief.
Chief Renee Hall says it started when the 27-year-old man crashed a stolen car in a neighborhood and fired shots at a citizen.
He was then chased by police to another neighborhood off Havencove Drive in Pleasant Grove, where he crashed into a creek.
A stolen car turns into a police chase, which turns into a standoff this morning between the thief and DPD officers. Thief reportedly pointed a gun at officers, prompting them to fire theirs at him. Police ordered the suspect out of the car. he got out holding a weapon, which he was ordered to drop; he instead pointed the gun at officers, prompting them to shoot, killing him on the spot.
