The DACA program is still alive, for now

Houston (WBAP/KLIF) – A federal judge in Houston has refused to issue an injunction requested by Texas and eight other states to temporarily halt the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. Judge Andrew Hanen decided that ending the program now would immediately deprive DACA recipients “of their ongoing lawful status and ability to work.” However, he did indicate he would likely eventually rule against DACA because it violates the Administrative Procedure Act, and because the states who sued did show that they are suffering irreparable injury. He did not say when that ruling might come.
