DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – September 11th this year marks the first day that those born following the terrorist attacks in 2001, are eligible to enlist in the U.S. Military.
U.S. Senator John Cornyn spoke to the newest enlistees at the Oath of Enlistment Ceremony in Dallas.
“Some of you were just toddlers, some of you were just born… you actually are the first generation of enlistees post 9/11,” Cornyn said.
Cornyn continues with saying “we need you now more than ever and as I look at the young men and women stepping up to serve I already feel better about our future.”
The enlistees recited the oath and hundreds of others waited in line to start their training.
