US Border Patrol Agent Confessed to Killing Four Women, Police Say

HOUSTON (AP) – A U.S. Border Patrol supervisor is being called a serial killer.

Juan David Ortiz allegedly confessed to killing four women and assaulting a fifth.

He’s being held on $2.5 million bond on four counts of murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful restraint.

According to court records, Ortiz “provided a voluntary verbal confession” in the deaths Saturday morning.

Investigators said Ortiz shot four prostitutes in the head and one woman managed to escape Ortiz after he pulled a gun on her Friday night.

Ortiz was arrested after he was found hiding in a truck in a hotel parking lot in Laredo around 2 a.m. Saturday after a 10-day crime spree.

Affidavits acquired by the Laredo Morning Times said the first body was found September 4th and second victim was found alive Thursday morning but later died at a hospital.

Investigators believe Ortiz picked up and fatally shot two more victims after the survivor managed to get away that Friday. A third body was found Friday and the last was found Saturday after Ortiz told police where to search.

Laredo is about 145 miles southwest of San Antonio.
