DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- A Dallas Homeless Outreach Center, ‘Our Calling’, expects hundreds of homeless people to enjoy a warm meal and warm place to sleep during cold nights this week. “We want to ensure people are safe and not die out in this weather so until there’s an alternative option we will keep our doors open,” Executive Director Wayne Walker said. Walker said they’re not actually a shelter but they’re open in the day to provide resources like washing machines, showers, internet and bible study to get people on their feet. Walker said they serve over 10,000 unsheltered homeless, who can’t get into shelters and will continue to stay open for cold nights. “It’s the right thing to do,” Walker said.
