(WBAP/KLIF) — North Texas reported more than a thousand new cases of COVID-19, Thursday, bringing the area total to 99,616. Tarrant county had 464 additional positive tests, while Dallas county reported 230, Collin county 222, and Denton county showed 117 newly infected residents.
That brings Dallas county to almost 53,000 total cases, with Tarrant county topping 32,000 infections. Denton county has close to 7,400 positives and Collin county almost 7,100.
The DFW area also reported 13 new deaths due to the virus, pushing the overall death toll to nearly 13-hundred. Dallas county lost 10 additional residents to COVID-19, bringing the county’s total to 736. Tarrant county has 411 total fatalities, Collin county 87 (2 additional Thursday), and Denton county 57 coronavirus deaths (1 additional Thursday).
The mortality rate for the Metroplex remains at 1.3%. statewide, there are over 467,000 cases and over 7,800.
