AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas GOP is calling a newly launched anti-Trump campaign “dishonorable” as it pushes its message in the Lone Star State.
The Lincoln Project, a political action committee made up of current and former Republicans, is spending $1 million-dollars on anti-Trump digital ads. Texas GOP Chairman Allen West was adamant on Tuesday that the campaign won’t be effective.
“It is unconscionable to me, as Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas, that there are these useful idiots who would seek to undermine the hard work and efforts being put in by the RPT, Republican candidates, and grassroots supporters to re-elect President Trump,” said West. “The members of the Lincoln Project have duly made themselves my opposition, an adversary, and I am focused on defeating them along with the progressive socialist left, the Democrat Party, here in the Lone Star State.”
The Lincoln Project’s ‘Operation Sam Houston’ focuses on digital adds in rural and suburban counties. The campaign is expected to run for a week, but could be extended.
