Plano, TX (WBAP/KLIF) _ It’s not clear where its new corporate headquarters will be located, but J.C. Penney has left its massive space in Plano as part of its bankruptcy filing.
Officials filed notice on Friday that it rejected its lease and abandoned the building.
The Dallas Morning News reports that most of Penney’s corporate employees have been working from home since March.
A barricade blocks the entrance to the massive 1.2 million square food structure on Legacy Drive.
Post bankruptcy, Penney’s will operate over 650 stores. a deal with soon-to-be new owners Simon and Brookfield, is expected to close soon.
