The new record high of hospitalizations was spurred by a rise of 1,400 patients in one week. That, coupled with another 15,000  newly confirmed cases has health experts worried.

Texas has had almost 1.6 million positive tests for Coronavirus, and with 349 additional deaths, Thursday, the pandemic death toll eclipsed 27,400.
